001 (5)Actress-producer Lara Dutta is loving the experience of being behind the camera, but she says producing films is not easy.

Lara, who turned producer with the 2011 film “Chalo Dilli”, told: “I’m doing a lot of stuff which is behind the camera, so that’s a new phase for me and I am enjoying being behind the cameras more than anything else. It’s been a tremendous learning experience and I had a great experience with ‘Chalo Dilli’ and I’m proud of my film that I made.”

The movie features Lara and Vinay Pathak. “The idea was to grow by making a medium budget film which is high on content. In this industry, it’s hard to come by good content… it’s a tough job, and being a producer is not easy. I am enjoying in that process,” she added.

What about plans of directing a film? “I’am not going to direct in a hurry. There is lot of production work going on right now. I am excited about it.” Besides producing films, Lara Dutta also plans to produce TV shows.

“We are going to be looking at TV, but I can’t talk about it. You will hear about it. Television is opening up massively, people will see many more changes on TV… we have got interesting things and a great show in plans.” Meanwhile, on the big screen, the actress will be seen in the “Chalo Dilli” sequel, which will soon go on floors.

lara_dutta_012_1024x768_jqeoActress-producer Lara Dutta is excited about doing a sequel to her debut film production “Chalo Dilli”, but says the new project will not be a continuation of the 2011 entertainer.

“The sequel to ‘Chalo Dilli’ will be a fresh film altogether and not a continuation. We have different characters in that,” said Lara.

“Chalo Dilli”, directed by Shashant Shah, features Lara and Vinay Pathak in the lead.

Apart from the sequel, what should one look forward to from Lara on the work front?

“There are multiple things happening right now. I am working on my production house, we have been talking about the sequel to ‘Chalo Dilli’ with Eros (Eros International) and that’s in pipeline. The film is in pre-production.”

“I’m very excited about ‘Chalo Dilli’ sequel. It will go on floors soon. But I can’t talk about the other projects,” added the former beauty queen.

Now, the actress-producer is gearing up for a comeback in films. “Right now I am focusing only on doing films. I am definitely going to be back in films, you will see me soon. I am shooting this year, the release is not in my hands. I can’t talk about which films I am doing,” Dutta said in a media interaction here.

“Everyone knows that we are doing a sequel to ‘Chalo Delhi’, that is in pre-production stage. I am quite excited about it. Besides this, there are films that I am doing outside my production house,” she said.

lara_dutta_012_1024x768_jqeogfA lot of yummy mummies have been eagerly planning their return to Bollywood. While some like Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi have already hit the marquee in their 2nd innings, others like Shilpa Shetty and Aishwarya Rai are still in the waiting list planning to announce their grand return soon. Joining this list is Lara Dutta who too had taken a sabbatical post the birth of her baby. And looks like the lady is now prepping herself up for her second innings in Bollywood.

Lara told us today that there is a rush of activities going in her professional life currently. “Lots of things are happening right now in my life, professionally especially with my production house Bheegi Basanti. We plan to produce many stuff both on film and television front,” said Lara and added that she is not interested in appearing on television for the moment.

Disclosing her intention about making a comeback in Bollywood soon, Lara said, “I am definitely focusing on films for the moment and I am definitely shooting this year. When my film would release is something that only my producers can answer. So whether the release is happening now or later is something I don’t know.”

Lara, however remained tightlipped and refused to reveal the name of the film that she is shooting for. The actress has also started work on the sequel of her 2011 movie Chalo Dilli. “I am excited about Chalo Dilli’s sequel which is in pre-production currently. nemeWhile it’s known that ‘No Entry Mein Entry’, sequel to the 2005 film will have 10 actresses – including the heroines of the original, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitly. What is surprising is that names of Sunny Leone and Elli Avram have also been popping up. While Sunny’s husband Daniel Weber kept mum on the topic stating, “No comment”, Elli who is in Dubai was unreachable.

Director Anees Bazmee revealed, “The casting for the other actresses, barring those in the previous film, will be locked in by next month. I want a few established and a few new faces as since it’s a multi-starrer to get the dates of all the established actors at once will be tough.”

Speaking of schedule, the film has now been pushed to January 2015. It was previously slated to go on floors this June. Anees reasoned, “While most of my films take no longer than 70 days of making, this film will take at least 150, as all the three lead actors (Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan) will be seen in double roles. Besides I haven’t finished Welcome yet. 75 percent of the film is complete but I need more time. Also Salman won’t be able to give me enough time before that. He has Sooraj Barjatya’s film lined up after Kick, where he plays a double role too, so he has two back-to-back double roles.”
