When we walked in we found this Ex-Miss Universe and Bollywood hottie lying on the floor, waiting to be questioned. That’s right, we were just born lucky.

So are you the permanent Bollywood Boustier Babe crooning away in film after film?
Not really. See me crooning in ‘Zinda’. I look more like Batman rather than Boustier Babe there.

When did you realise men were going a bit cross-eyed gawking at you?
In nursery actually! I realised I was not really attractive but I did have a way with men.

What is sexy food for you?
Strawberries dipped in chocolate… mmm!

Food that absolutely turns you off?
Karela!

What puts you off most in a man?
Bad breath!

So how often does Lara Dutta encounter bad breath shooting romantic scenes with co-stars?
Mercifully, not too often. After launch on the sets everybody gets biryani breath! I have rather sweet co-stars, though, who ask if they can have onions for launch.

How long do you take to get dressed?
An hour. Maybe two. Mainly because I believe in being fashionably late to anywhere!

Bollywood actor Lara Dutta Bhupathi is well known for her fitness regimen. Even after gaining so much of weight during her pregnancy, she managed to get back to her old sexy look within a short time. While she promotes fitness as a way of life, she does not think that she needs to guide her co-star Emraan Hashmi about it.

The actress, who is working for the first time with Emraan Hashmi in the film “Azhar”, told ANI, “Emraan is a fantastic actor, and of course, he had done a lot of homework on the character before coming on board. Also, it is a huge responsibility on him to enact Mohammad Azharuddin. He is brilliant in it and I don’t think I need to give any fitness tips to him, for sure. So far, the film is shaping up really great so I am very excited.”

She further said that it is fun to work in such a film because there are very few sport-based films in this country, and it is nice to be part of something that’s different from the regular commercial masala films that comes out every year.

Azhar is a film based on the real life events of the former Indian international cricketer, Mohammad Azharuddin. The film is directed by Tony D’Souza.

Bollywood actress Lara Dutta believes that after a certain age, one gets free from the pressure of playing the lead in films. At such times, Lara says that all one needs to have is a break through character which brings the best out of an actor, irrespective of its shelf life on screen.

And such is a character the actress is playing in the upcoming film, ‘Azhar’. In an exclusive interview to ANI, Lara, who will portray the character role of a lawyer, threw some light on her role, “This character is of course inspired by Mohammad Azharuddin’s life, but there was no real reference to it. Of course, there was a prosecuting lawyer but it wasn’t a female. So, there is a certain amount of homework that has went into owning the character because she is a tough cookie, adamant, best in her business and a tough nut to crack. There was a certain approach to the character which was fun and nice as it is very different from any other characters I have done in my career including the role in ‘Singh is Bling'”

Lara was present at the launch of ZEVEN, which is a multi-dimensional brand committed to transform sports in India by making it an important part of everyone’s life.

The event also saw the presence of some Indian athletes like Shikhar Dhawan, Rohan Bopanna, Mary Kom and Mahesh Bhupathi.

Reviews about Lara’s performance:

Lara Dutta may be just an art dealer, and hence inconsequential to this story, but she gets to say what we have been dying to: “Itna aasan nahin hota yahaan tak aana. Joote ghis jaate hain.” Needless to say, don’t look down at theirs.

The biggest let down in the film is that good actors like Lara Dutta, Govind Namdev and Rahul Bhat have been wasted in small roles and only turn out as mere additions to the brigade of the cast.
While Tabu and to a far lesser extent, Lara Dutta , Aditi Rao Hydari and Rahul Bhatt (making an impact bigger than Aditya Kapoor in his brief cameo) and Akshay Oberoi (drawing a character out of a seriously malnourished role) speak their meagre dialogues with conviction, Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor struggle with their copiously florid lines trying to make sense of the bombast.
Ajay Devgn and Lara Dutta are totally wasted in the film.
Aditi Rao Hydari, Akshay Oberoi, Rahul Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Lara Dutta have performed their parts well.
Lara Dutta is perfectly cast in her character of Leena.
Lara Dutta has a smooth cameo as Noor’s gallerist – but old-fashioned Bollywood misinformation about the way these things actually work catches up here too.

India’s entry to Miss Universe 2015, Urvashi Rautela, was considered a top contender with numerous pageant followers listing her to be their favorite while almost all of them included her in their top 10 prediction list. But like Miss India Universe 2008 Simran Kaur Mundi, Urvashi failed to make it thought first cut.

Apart from being a very popular participant this year, Urvashi Rautela is successful actress in her country and on top of it she has been chosen to represent India at Miss Universe contest twice, something no other Miss India has ever had an opportunity of. Moreover, she has been trained by none other than India’s two  very own Miss Universe winners Lara Dutta and Sushmita Sen along with Miss world 1997 Diana Hayden. But the question remains is why Urvashi failed to make it to top 15?

One theory is that pageant organizers purposely exclude very strong contenders from making a first cut because their inclusion would steal all the light from other selected contestants, paving their way straight to the crown. As so happened in 2013 Miss World when Filipino contestant Megan Young was considered a favorite of media and pageant lovers alike and after her inclusion in the top 15, her way to the crown was just a piece of cake. Hence, like Miss Venezuela 2010, Urvashi was also intentionally not included in top 15 list. Had she have made a cut to top 15, she would have gone straight to claim the crown easily.
